June 29, 2010-- from Pastor Mark:
Praise God for His love and mercy! We
have arrived safely here in Columbus and have been truly blessed with the first session. Thank you for
praying for us! I am so excited to see God working in all of the students lives. Throughout the
week, different students will be sharing their experiences and what God is doing in their lives. I pray
that as they do this, you will be mutually encouraged and challenged to grow in the ways we are. We are
praying for God to transform us and undo the things He wants and makes us all more like Christ. I believe
God has amazing plans for each of us and I ask that all of you continue to pray that god will have His way
with each one of us.
To God be the Glory,
June 29, 2010-- from Daniel Bohlin:
I have learned so much
while at Challenge. One thing that stuck out to me today was when the Pastor preached on the
Beatitude, “blessed are the mournful, for they will be comforted.” Originally I thought the
meaning of the word mourn in this passage was people that were sad or hurt from something dramatic
in their life. The pastor opened up with a statement that was leading into that, but ended this
statement saying that it was not true. I listened very carefully to what he said next and learned
that the mournful Jesus is referring to are the ones who mourn over the sins of themselves and others. He
talked about opening up our eyes and seeing all the people that were hurt and lost and going to them. What
really struck me was that I need to start helping people who are hurt or in need and feel for them.
